MGM Hires Hugh Harman and Rudolf Ising to begin Happy Harmonies series and Placed Fred Quimby in charge of studio.

1940


First Tom & Jerry cartoon is released "Puss Get's The Boot", and studio wins first Academy Award for "The Milky Way"

1942


Tex Avery Arrives, and "Blitz Wolf" released.

1943


"The Yankee Doodle Mouse" wins Academy Award for Tom & Jerry

1945


Jerry stars with Gene Kelly in "Anchors Aweigh", and "Quiet Please!" wins Academy award.
